ป้าแพ้ง หญิงม้งวัย 50 ปี ทำไร่ทำสวนมามากกว่า 20 ปี โดยเริ่มจากการปลูกผักแปลงเล็ก ๆ เลี้ยงชีพ แต่รายได้ไม่ดีเท่าไร
“โชคดีที่หลานได้เรียนหนังสือ เขาชอบอ่านหนังสือเกี่ยวกับเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงให้ฟังบ่อย ๆ ดูโทรทัศน์ก็มีเรื่องเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว เลยลองทำดู”
แล้วป้าแพ้งก็เริ่มหันมาปลูกพืชผักผลไม้ตามฤดู โดยในช่วงฤดูร้อนและฝน ป้าแพ้งจะปลูกกะหล่ำและผักสวนครัวหลายอย่างพร้อม ๆ กัน เพราะผักแต่ละชนิดมีราคาถูก-แพงต่างกันตลอดปี แต่เมื่อถึงฤดูหนาว ป้าแพ้งจะปลูกสตรอว์เบอร์รี่ทั้งหมด เพราะเป็นช่วงเวลาที่สตรอว์เบอร์รี่มีราคาดี
การอดออมจัดสรรค่าใช้จ่ายและใช้ชีวิตอย่างพอดี คือกินเท่าที่มี และใช้เท่าที่จำเป็น ทำให้ปัจจุบันป้าแพ้งมีพื้นที่ทำเกษตรกรรมประมาณ 6 ไร่ และยังเปิดไร่ของตนเองให้นักท่องเที่ยวได้เข้ามาชม ทำกิจกรรม ถ่ายภาพ เก็บผัก เก็บสตรอว์เบอร์รี่ได้ตลอดทั้งปีอีกด้วย
ไร่ของป้าแพ้ง มีชื่อว่า ไร่อายง ตั้งอยู่ที่ตำบลโป่งยาง อำเภอแม่ริม จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ บริเวณทางขึ้นไปยังม่อนแจ่ม

Strawberry Farm by Auntie Phaeng
Auntie Phaeng, a 50-year-old tribal woman called Mong, has been farming for more than 20 years, started from a small vegetable garden with small amount of income just for living.
“Luckily, my nephew got educated. He loves to read about sufficiency economy which belongs to the King quite often. That’s the reason why I start to try.”
Auntie Paeng then started to grow seasonal fruits and vegetables by herself. In the summer, she grows cabbage and various kinds of vegetable with the reason that each season, the cost of them is also different throughout the year. And in the winter, she grows the entire farm with strawberry because she can get a good price from growing them.
The advantage of Auntie Paeng’s farm is that she doesn’t use any chemical component either for her fruits or vegetables.
The saving and arranging income, and balancing life is to eat what you have and use what is necessary. Nowadays, Auntie Phaeng has her own
farmland about 6 Rai and also opens for tourists to visit for photo shooting, vegetable or strawberry picking throughout the year as well.
