เรื่องและภาพโดย ชาคร อมรเศรษฐ์ : ชื่อวังเวียงนี้อาจจะคุ้นหูเราพอสมควร. ด้วยว่านี่คือชื่อของเมืองท่องเที่ยวต่างอากาศที่เลื่องลือของสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว ตั้งอยู่ท่ามกลางขุนเขาที่โอบล้อม อยู่สูงกว่าระดับน้ำทะเลราว 400เมตร. อากาศโปร่งและเย็นสบายในบางฤดูกาล มีแม่น้ำซองไหลผ่าน สร้างความโดดเด่นให้วังเวียงเป็นเมืองที่มีเสน่ห์
จนหลายคนกล่าวว่า นี่คือเมืองสุดโรเมนติกในลาว
แม่น้ำซองเป็นแม่น้ำสายเล็กๆ พื้นใต้น้ำส่วนใหญ่เป็นกรวด น้ำไม่ลึก ไหลเร็วแรง แต่ก็ใสกระจ่าง
ในบางช่วงเราแทบจะเดินข้ามฝั่งได้สบาย
ธรรมชาติที่สวยงามของวังเวียง ดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยวแนว Adventure เข้ามาไม่น้อย มีกิจกรรมสนุกๆ
กึ่งเร้าใจรอให้มาสัมผัสมากมาย
ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการขึ้นบอลลูนชมทิวทัศน์เหนือน่านฟ้าฝ่าสายหมอกยามเช้า หรือเหินบินชมตะวันลับฟ้ารอบเย็น ก็สร้างความประทับใจปนความตื่นเต้นได้เป็นอย่างดี
บางคนที่กลัวความสูง ลองเปลี่ยนมาสนุกแบบเท้าติดพื้นกันบ้างด้วยรถbuggyหรือมอเตอร์ไซค์วิบาก
ตะลุยชมความสวยงามที่ราบสูงท่ามกลางขุนเขาหินปูนทรงแปลกตาและแหล่งน้ำใสเย็น
ยังมีกิจกรรมทางน้ำ ทั้งนั่งเรือท่องชมความงาม ออกแรงพายคายัคลัดเลาะตามลำน้ำ
หรือเอาตูดแช่น้ำในห่วงยาง แล้วปล่อยลอยละล่องไปตามกระแส ไม่ต้องกลัวจม เพราะอย่างที่บอกว่าตั้งแต่แรกว่าน้ำค่อนข้างตื้น
แน่นอนว่า ยังมีที่ๆน่าสนใจอีกมากมายในวังเวียง กำลังรอให้คุณไปสัมผัสประสบการณ์ดีๆ เลือก

A light adventure in Vang Vieng
Text/Photo : Chakorn Amornset : Vang Vieng sounds very familiar to many of us because it is a famous tourist destination in Lao PDR. Setting in a valley surrounding by high mountains that stand over 400 meters above sea level, Vang Vieng enjoys cool weather in some time of the year. Nam Song River that flows through the town also makes Vang Vieng more interesting. Some even said that this is the most romantic town in Laos.
Nam Song River is a small river with pebble at the waterbed. The water is not very deep and the water current is strong, yet clear. The water level can be very low that we can walk across sometime. The unspoiled nature of Vang Vieng has attracted many adventure tourists to the city which now offers many fun activities, such as sight-seeing balloon early morning and paragliding at sunset.
For those with vertigo, there are many other fun activities without going up into the sky. Buggy cars and motorcycles can take you around to explore the beauty of the high land and limestone mountains that are in strange shapes. With nice river running through the city, water activities are available. You can choose to take a boat to see the city, go on kayak to explore the nature, or simply sit down in the swim ring and let the water takes you. No worries about drowning because the water is quite shallow. There are many more excitements awaiting your visits in Vang Vieng.
